The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= March 11. 2005 12:00AM Sidney Pellegrin Jr. [Photo] Sidney Joseph "Snooks" Pellegrin Jr., 81, a native and resident of Houma, died at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2005. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Mass will be at noon Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by his devoted wife, Hilda Huber Pellegrin; one stepson, Mickel Brien of Houma; three stepdaughters, Rosie and husband, Lynwood Guillot, of Thibodaux, Barbara Gautreaux and friend, Joseph Verret, and Norma Solar and friend, Bobby Cutting, of Houma; three sisters, Catherine Molitor, Hilda Parker and Rosemary Baron; eight step-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Sr. and Rose Marie Pellegrin; one brother, Donovon Pellegrin; one step-grandson, Dale Benoit; and seven sisters, Sadie "Peggy" Duplantis, Mersedese Sevier, Della Filardo, Rowena Labat, Imelda Hodo, Elda Cox and Gloria Molitor. He was retired from Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Post Office. He was a 4th degree of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1317, a member of the American Legion and Lions Club and was a devoted usher and parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. He was a soldier in the U.S. Army until 1946, a veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a loving, kind and gentle man. Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
