Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by his wife, Effie LeBoeuf LeCompte of Houma; two sons, Gary J. LeCompte Sr. and wife, Bonna, of Houma, and Kenneth LeCompte and wife, Eileen, of League City, Texas; two daughters, Katha Rogers and husband, Danny, of Westwego and Sandra Rush and husband, Keith, of Gonzales; one stepbrother, Norris LeCompte; one sister, Walterine LeBoeuf; two step-sisters, Doris Saltzman and Mary Lee LeBouef; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great- great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Cora Rhodes LeCompte; three brothers, Wilbert LeCompte, Hewitt LeCompte and Chester LeCompte; one sister, Ruth Matlock; and one grandson, Gary LeCompte Jr. He was a retired driller foreman with 42 years with Texaco, a U.S. Navy veteran and a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
