Galliano, 84, a native of Larose and resident of Cut Off, died at 7:45 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2005. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off. Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Nefta Cheramie Galliano; two sons, Michael Galliano and wife, Sylvia, and Joseph Galliano and wife, Gail; two daughters, Diana Allemand and husband, Anthony "Lou," and Sylvia Holmes and husband, Larry; two sisters, Carrie Adams and Onix Arrington; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emile and Josephine Vega Galliano; three brothers, Emile, Landry and Vernon Galliano; and one sister, Clara Sowards. He was an lifetime oysterman and fisherman and a World War II Army veteran, receiving two Purple Hearts and many other honors. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus of Galliano and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
