The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= April 06. 2005 12:20PM Allen Labat [Photo] Allen John Labat, 87, a native of Houma and resident of Montegut, died at 2:35 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2005. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass will be at noon Friday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Elise Ellender Labat of Montegut; three sons, Paul Labat of Houma, Malcolm Labat and wife, Peggy, of Bayou Blue and Curtis Labat and wife, Kay, of Thibodaux; and three grandchildren, Dustin Labat, Michael Labat and Matthew Labat. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Labat and Valerine Dupre Labat; two brothers, Louis Labat and John Labat; and four sisters, Aline LeBlanc, Della Matherne, Alma Kurtz and Ada Labat. He was a retired roustabout with Texaco and owned Al's Texaco in Montegut for 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 272, Holy Name Society of Montegut and a past member of Tri Parish Service Station Association. He was in the U.S. Coast Guard in World War II and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
