Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Baptist Church in Thibodaux, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by three daughters, Rose Williams, Doris Riney and Kathleen McCormick of Thibodaux, three stepdaughters, Barbara Reed Brown of Schriever, Janet Reed Alcorn and Patricia Reed Williams of Thibodaux; three sons, Lawrence Francis of Thibodaux, Tom Francis of Lockport and James Francis of Labadieville; three stepsons, Michael, David and Stanley Reed, all of Thibodaux; three sisters, Ruby Lee Neal and Effie Price of Thibodaux and Lula Mae Jackson of Luling; three brothers, Bishop Ervin Mitchell of Midland, Texas, Ernest Joseph of New Orleans and Lloyd Thomas of Alexandria; 14 grandchildren; 14 step- grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Reed; her parents, Otto and Corrine Francis; one son, Melvin Francis; one stepson, Calvin Reed; one sister, Joyce Joseph; four brothers, Silas, Willie, Royal and Charley Francis; and one great-grandchild, Lisa Annie McCormick. She was a member of St. Peter Baptist Church and served on the usher board and the deaconess board.
