Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Gertrude Geddes Willis-Terrebonne Funeral Home Chapel. Religious services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. She is survived by one son, James C. Harris Jr. of Houma; two daughters, Dolores H. Desselle of Reserve and Pearl Harris of Houma; one daughter-in-law, Joyce T. Harris of Houma; two sons-in-law, Albert Desselle of Reserve and Joseph Taplett of Houma; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Harris Sr.; her parents, Richard Thomas and Millie Thomas; her stepfather, Alex Miller; one stepdaughter, Louise Parker; two brothers, Hudson Thomas Sr. and Freddie Thomas; and one sister, Elizabeth Bergeron. She was a homemaker and a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Gertrude Geddes Willis-Terrebonne Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
