A Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Chauvin. He is survived by his wife, Grace Fleming; four brothers, Mark Fleming of San Francisco, Edison Fleming of Westwego, Webster Fleming of Vacaville, Calif., and Herman Fleming of Houma; and six sisters, Maudries Smith Bolden of Chauvin, Ora L. Turner of Phoenix, Bertha Porche and Louise Martin of Chauvin, Annabelle Westley and Frances Payne of Houma. He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Clarence Fleming and Lucille Fleming; one son, Herbert Fleming; his guardian grandparents, Anderson Smith and Louise Smith; his grandparents, Webster Fleming Sr., Louise Fleming, James William and Francis Carvin; and three brothers, James Fleming Sr., Clarence Fleming Jr. and Sherman Fleming. He was a retired city employee and volunteer worker.
