"Buddy" Harrison, 85, a native of Huttig, Ark., and resident of Monroe, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Memorial United Methodist Church in Monroe. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Washburn Harrison; one daughter, Judith "Judy" Foret and husband, Delvin, of Houma; two sons, Edgar L. "Bud" Harrison Jr. and wife, Carolyn, of Bastrop and William W. "Bill" Harrison and wife, Brenda, of Monroe; three sisters, Bernice Castleberry of Freehold, N.J., Faye Crain of Sachse, Texas, and Helen Murphy of Searcy, Ark.; one sister-in-law, Naomi Harrison of Beaumont, Texas; six grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Barksdale Harrison. He was owner and operator of Central Tower Service Station and Tower Sport Shop for more than 34 years and was a World War II veteran. He was a member of the North Monroe Lions Club and a lifetime member of the Monroe Little League Baseball Board. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, serving as chairman of the board, president of Methodist Men and teaching Sunday School.
