Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Chauvin. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Pellegrin Authement; one son, Keith Patrick Authement and wife, Phyllis, of Thibodaux; two daughters, Jeffie Hebert of Bourg and Cindy Thibodeaux and husband, Raleigh, of Bourg; two brothers, Nason Authement of Houma and Eural Authement of Chauvin; two sisters, Ann Babin of Chauvin and Lou Chaisson of Thibodaux; six grandchildren, Kent Thibodeaux, Kipp Authement, Danielle Parmenter, Colette Robichaux and Sunnie and Melanie Hebert; and three great-grandchildren, Claire Verdin, Kayla and Sonnie Authement. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lanest J. and Aurora Bergeron Authement; and one brother, Annassee Authement. He was a retired teacher and a member of Louisiana Retired Teacher's Association and Terrebonne Association of Retired Teachers Educator. He was Grand Knight of the Bourg Knights of Columbus, Kenneth Boudreaux Post No. 308 and Bourg Lions Club. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a veteran of World War II. He loved writing, fishing, hunting, woodworking and was a skilled artisan craftsman. He was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg. Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
