Visitation will be 9 a.m. until funeral time at Eagle Wright Baptist Church in Gray. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Gray. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jenkins Woods; father-in-law, Herbert Jenkins Sr.; two sons, Paul Woods and friend, Ursula Wilson,and Carlos J. (Karen) Jenkins of Gibson; one daughter, Shana Woods of Gray; one brother, Paul Cooper of Gray; four close friends, Joshua Watkins, Jonathan Robertson, Dontrell Joseph and Joseph Williams, all of Thibodaux; eight brothers-in-law, Herbert (Florestine) Jenkins of Boutte, Wallace (Audrey Mae) Washington of Gibson, Oliver Beamon of Thibodaux, Berwick Sims of Gibson, Larry (Darlene) Jenkins of Gibson, Warren (Rosalie) Chisel of Gibson, Claude Adams Sr. of Gray and James Dudley of Texas; three sisters, Mildred W. Gauche of Houma, Betty W. Adams of Gray and Doris Dudley of Texas; and 23 grand-children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Rosa Anderson Woods; mother- in-law, Vella Jenkins; one son, Timothy Jenkins; one brother, Joseph Woods Sr.; five sisters Gladys W. Rainey, Shirley Woods, Evelyn W. Williams, Gloria Woods and Dolores W. Beamon; and one sister-in-law, Jeannie J. Gims. He attended Eagle Wright Baptist Church. His hobbies were watching cowboy movies, baseball, football and singing. He was a retired sandblaster and painter for Quality Shipyards. Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
