Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Gertrude Geddes-Willis Terrebonne Funeral Home and from 3 p.m. Tuesday to wake services at St. Luke Baptist Church. Wake services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Louis Ruffin of Houma; four sons, Robert Louis Ruffin and wife, Etta, of Bronx, New York City, and Roger Ruffin and wife, Sylvia, Charles Ruffin and wife, Eva, and Julius Ruffin and wife, Lois, all of Houma; three daughters, Lorraine and Annette Ruffin of Houma and Carolyn Ruffin Patterson and husband, J.J., of Gray; two sisters, Ivory Lyons Williams of New Orleans and Ruby Lyons Hamilton of Houma; her devoted cousin, Hazel Hawkins Navarre of Houma; 20 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Hawkins Lyons; one son, Carl Anthony Ruffin; four brothers, Rezzie Lyons, Louis Lyons, Henry Lyons Jr. and Mervin Lyons; her maternal grandparents, Dave and Darcus Smith Hawkins; her paternal grandparents, Regis and Anna Celestine Lyons; and one nephew, the Rev. Cleveland Lawrence Williams Sr. She was a member of St. Luke Baptist Church at Waterproof for many years and served as church mother until her death. She was active in the Women's Auxiliary of the 5th District, Sunflower Chapter No. 205, Order of Eastern Stars, United Veteran League, Veterans of Foreign War Post No. 3700 and Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post No. 31. She was recognized as "Queen" of Terrebonne Parish Men's Day Association along with her husband who reigns as "King". She will be missed by one and all in her numerous spiritual accomplishments.
