The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= May 14. 2005 11:44PM Charlie Stewart, Sr. [Photo] Charlie "Scrap Doc" Leroy Stewart Sr., 75, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Gibson, died at 8:50 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2005. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Gibson. A religious service will begin at noon Monday at the church with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Emma Bernadine Johnson Stewart; six sons, Charlie Stewart Jr., Roy Stewart, Micheal Stewart, Larry Stewart, Delbert Stewart, and Clay Stewart; seven daughters, Valerie S. Carvin, Gloria S. Short, Bernada S. Clay, Lisa S. Short, Bernetta Stewart, Janell Stewart, and Gilda Stewart; two brothers, David Stewart and George Stewart; one sister, Gloriastine S. Dillard; 38 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary Stewart; one daughter, Katerine Stewart; three brothers, Andrew Stewart, Daniel Stewart and Thomas Stewart; and five sisters, Leola S. Marks, Gladys S. Bulter, Bessie S. Coleman, Elizabeth Stewart and Mary S. Brown. Another sister, Katherine Jones, died six days after his death. He was retired. He was a parishioner of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church.
