Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday at Community Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Howard Third Zion Travelers Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at noon Saturday at the church, with burial in Southdown Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Emelda L. Twiggs; four sons, Harold Twiggs and wife, Tammy, of Houma and Brian, Keith and Marcus Twiggs, all of Houma; five daughters, Angela Clay and husband, Chad, Catherine Twiggs and Brittany Ray, all of Houma, Tameka Knight and husband, Charles Jr., of New Orleans and Veronica Ledet and husband, Randall Sr., of Southington, Conn.; six brothers, Lionel Lyons and wife, Virginia, Joseph Twiggs, Norman Pierre and Sterling Pierre and wife, Linda, all of Houma, Sydney Poindexter and wife, Vert, of Boutte and Alvin Smith of Raceland; seven sisters, Pastor Lorraine Fusilier, Grace Twiggs and Patricia Lewis and husband, Lionel, all of Houma, Ethel Poindexter of Raceland, Rita Meads and husband, Arthur, of Labadieville, Agnes Arvie and husband, Milton, of Houston and Sherry Bolden of Boutte; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine R. Jackson and Harry Twiggs Sr.; one son, Quincy Ellender; one daughter, Katina E. Twiggs; and one sister, Emily Mae Robinson. He was a self-employed cement finisher for TNS Concrete Services and was a member of Howard Third Zion Baptist Church.
