Draper died Monday, May 23, 2005. Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Friday at Winnfield Funeral Home in Baton Rouge and from 9 a.m. to funeral service Saturday at Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Dismissal service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Rankin Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Rayville, with burial in Love and Charity Cemetery. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa and Joseph Harris Jr. of Houma; one sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Willis Miles of Chicago; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Carolyn Reddick, Walter and Shirley Reddick and Larry and Theresa Williams, all of Dallas; one foster brother, Elder Eugene Harris of Baton Rouge; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his adopted parents, Nelson W. and Josie Bradford Draper; his mother, Fannie Williams; one sister, Dorothy Williams; his grandmother, Evelyn DeBose; and one granddaughter, Jailyn Alaina Harris. He was a retired food-service manager from Louis Jetson Correctional Center for Youth with 18 years of service and was owner of L & D Tax Service for 25 years. He was a member of Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, the Steward Board, Layman League, Sons of Allen, financial secretary and church accountant and a member of the male chorus.
