Callais, 79, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano, died at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2005. Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Clothilde P. Callais; three sons, Daniel, Raymond Sr. and David Callais; two brothers, Clivington and Clinton Callais; two sisters, Julia C. Vegas and Barbara C. Trahan; eight grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anderson Xavier Sr. and Viola E. Hingle Callais; three brothers, Anderson Jr., Theophile and Lindy Callais; and two sisters, Trina C. Boudreaux and Earlia C. Guidry. He was a World War II Army veteran and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
