Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Raceland. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Walter Thomas of Raceland; two sons, Garland Thomas and wife, Veronica, of Indian Head, Md., and Robert Smith and wife, Cassandra, of Dallas; two stepsons, Gerald Thomas and wife, Audrey, of Harvey, and Elvis Thomas and wife, Melissia, of Breaux Bridge; two daughters, Zelda Price and Tekieta Thomas, both of Raceland; two stepdaughters, Virginia Thomas of Dallas, and Dorothy Abraham and husband, Donald, of Houston; one foster daughter, Meosha Criswell of Lafayette; two brothers, Philip Smith of Kenner and Monroe Smith of New Orleans; six sisters, Rosa Nell Smith of Lockport, Ola Brown, Audrey Jones and husband, Lawrence, Lenora Smith and husband, Melvin, of Raceland, Viola Rushing and Barbara Alexander and husband, Nolan, of Houston; and 13 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Leola Smith; and one brother, Leroy Smith. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.
