The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= May 30. 2005 12:11PM Raymond Vreeland Sr. [Photo] Raymond Leroy Vreeland Sr., 74, a native of Chattanooga, Tenn., and resident of Houma, died at 8:45 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2005. Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in New Hope Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Lodrigue Vreeland of Houma; seven sons, Kenneth Vreeland, Jamie Theriot, Jessie Vreeland of Houma, Marty Vreeland, Darrell Vreeland, Raymond Vreeland Jr. of Mississippi, and Sgt. Joel Theriot Jr. of Houma stationed in Iraq; four daughters, Pat Vreeland, Kathy Vreeland, Colleen Theriot of Houma; and Gloria Vreeland of Mississippi; 23 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Joseph Vreeland and Sarah Elizabeth Stoe Vreeland; and one brother, Bill Vreeland. He was a retired painter with R & R Painting and a retired U.S. Air Force veteran after 32 years.
