Picou, 73, a native of Little Caillou and resident of Houma, died at 7:45 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2005. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at First United Pentacostal Church. Religious service will be held at noon Tuesday at the church with burial in Garden of Memories cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mamis E. Dufresne Picou; two sons, Kenneth Picou and wife, Karen, and Seth Picou; two stepsons Timmy Dufresne and wife, Anne, and Craig Dufresne; three daughters, Rae Ann Chauvin and husband, Michael, Renee' Hebert and husband, Thomas, and Lorenia Bourg and husband, Mark; one stepdaughter, Cynthia D. Dupre and husband, Rodney; one brother, Felton Picou; three sisters, Miriam P. Brossette, Rona P. Rodrigue and Rhea P. Voisin; one half-sister Ruby P. LeBoeuf; and 17 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Orenia LeCompte Picou; parents, Elam and Pearl Picou; four brothers, Roland, Wibur, Corbet and Noel Picou; three half- brothers, Houston, Elam Jr. and John Picou; two sisters, Helen Bellanger and Bonnie Belle Fitch; and four half-sisters, Gertrude Mason, Emily Savoie, Ester LeBouef and Pearl Pitre. He was nondenominational and a veteran of the Korean War with the U.S. Army. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family for medical expenses.
