Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Religious service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Linda Kay Mallicoat Devine of Houma; two sons, James Russel Devine and wife, Tammy, of Houma, and Joseph Eugene Devine of Schriever; two sisters, Elizabeth Ann Corry and husband, Lloyd, of Arrowsmith, Ill., and Mary J. Devine of Bloomington; one brother-in-law, David Logue; six sisters-in- law, Rose Barnett, Doris Lamb, Peggy Williams, Diana LeBlanc, Melissa Stimler and Pamela Logue; and six grandchildren, Tiffany E. Davis, Justin E. Devine, Taylor K. Devine, Heather M. Neal, Tre' P. Britton and Jaden M. Richard. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Devine and Marian Thompson Devine. He was a butcher at Rouses and a member of Grace Bible Church. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially a lifelong fan of driver Bill Elliot. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. As a hobby, he always enjoyed doing mechanic work on cars. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
