Rufus Thomas Jr., 57, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Detroit, died 
Friday, May 13, 2005.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Moses Baptist Church in 
Thibodaux. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with 
burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his mother, Izetta T. Thomas of Thibodaux; three daughters, 
Yolanda Brown, Felicia Lee and Anissa Thomas of Detroit; two stepdaughters, 
Patricia Carter and Sherry Darnell of Detroit; three sons, Awazi Lee, Cardeae 
Thomas and Pierre Payne, all of Detroit; one stepson, Don Berry of Detroit; four 
sisters, Richardean Washington, Martha T. Thomas and Linda A. Thomas of 
Thibodaux and Yvette T. Henderson of Arlington, Texas; three brothers, Lionel 
Adams Sr. and Martin Thomas, both of Thibodaux; and Leonard Thomas Sr. of Baton 
Rouge; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Thomas Sr.; two sisters, Delores 
Davis and Lois T. Jackson; one stepsister, Yvonne D. Stepter; and one stepbrother, James Thomas.
