Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Morning Star Baptist Church in Raceland. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Darrell Mathieu of Raceland; five daughters, Denise Washington, Bernadette Perio and husband, Joseph Perio III and Michelle Mathieu, all of Raceland, and Deanna Polly and Darrelyn Mathieu of Tampa Bay, Fla.; four sons, Melvin Washington of New Orleans, Ronald Washington of Thibodaux, Darryl Washington and Darrel Brown Mathieu of Raceland; three brothers, Horace Lee of Baton Rouge, Morris Lee and Harold Lee of New Orleans; 22 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Gracie Lee; two sons, Darren Mathieu and Donald Lee Washington; one daughter, Carroll Washington; one grandchild, Brad Shelby; and one great-grandchild, Leonjanae Poindexter. She was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church and served in the Usher Board No. 1.
