Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today and from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Vincent Funeral Home in Abbeville. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, with burial in St. Paul Cemetery in Abbeville. He is survived by two sons, James Ray Bourge and Dr. Robert C. Bourge and wife, Cutessa Detraz of Birmingham, Ala.; one daughter, Mary Odile Bourge of Abbeville; one brother, Numa J. Bourge Jr. and wife, Veda Allen, of Lufkin, Texas; two sisters, Gladys B. Mayers of Port Arthur, Texas, and Bernice B. Bourg of Houma; three grandchildren, Ryan Lee Bourge of Abbeville, Christain A. Bourge of Washington and Crystal B. Cochiara, of Lafayette; four great-grandchildren, Madeline Elise Bourge of Washington, Joel Victor, Jamie Odile and William Ray Cochiara of Lafayette; and his special friends, Bud and Dot Chauvin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtis Broussard Bourge; his parents, Numa J. Bourge Sr. and Esperie Landry Escudier; one sister, Pearl Bourge Dubois; and a loving aunt, Lucetta Landry. He was a World War II veteran and worked for the Louisiana Department of Health for 25 years. He was a member of the American Legion. Vincent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
