Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 9 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. with burial to follow at Port Hudson Cemetery in Zachary. He is survived by his wife, Helen LeCompte Soudelier; one son, Thomas "Tom" Soudelier; three daughters, Dorothy Cloud, Patsy Chauvin and Chris Soudelier; nine grandchildren, Adam Soudelier, Mason Soudelier, Elise Soudelier, Natalie Boquet Trahan, Monica Fornof Fallo, Samantha Fornof Heck, Kelly Burmaster Phillips, Justin Chauvin and Mitzi Chauvin; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam Soudelier and Avela LeCompte Soudelier; three brothers, Alton Soudelier, Lloyd Soudelier and Morris Soudelier; and one sister, Eva Mae Hall. He was a retired steel foreman with Dolphin Services and a member of the YMCA. He was a U.S. Army veteran from World War II and a member of the National Guard and Civilian Conservation Co-op. He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
