LeCompte, 82, a native and resident of Chauvin, died at 10:55 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2005. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Knights of Columbus Home in Chauvin. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Rita Adams LeCompte; one son, Kenneth LeCompte and wife, Patricia Griffin LeCompte; two daughters, Mona Whitney and husband, James Whitney Jr., and Veronica Dupre and husband, Arthur Dupre Jr.; three sisters, Eulice Neil, Helen Lirette and husband, Houston Lirette Sr., and Irene Lyons and husband, Paul; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland LeCompte and Estelle Ledet LeCompte. He was a retired boat owner and parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin. He was a World War II Army Veteran and belonged to the V.F.W. Post in Chauvin.
