Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 1. He is survived by three sisters, Ethel Bahm and husband, Dallas, of Augusta, Ga., Wanda Gros and husband, Eugene, of Houma and Sally Mazur and husband, James, of Las Vegas; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, David Joseph Olivier and Esther Beadle Olivier; and one brother, Charles David Olivier. He was a retired accountant and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Terrebonne Genealogy Society and a member of Bicentennial Planning Committee. He was a member of Terrebonne Art League, director at large of Louisiana Watercolor Society, a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and a lifelong communicant of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. He enjoyed a reputation as an artist using oils and watercolors and was affectionately known as the "Cajun Country Painter." Some of his paintings were reproduced in Father Hebert's geneology books, as well as Whitney Boudreaux's book "How to Build Your Own Pirogue" and the "Good Earth Cookbook" published during the Bicentennial Celebration of Houma. He was an active member of the Terrebonne Geneology Society, writing and publishing genealogy articles. He co-authored the books "Francois Olivier and Allied Families" and "Descendants of Francois Olivier and Related Lines." He was a member of the Bicentennial Planning Committee for which he did pen and ink drawings for the American Revolution Bicentennial Celebration 1976. He designed the Southern Bell logo formerly used on telephone booths. He was a member of the Terrebonne Art League. He served as Director at Large of the Louisiana Watercolor Society. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was a member of Houma's 150th Birthday Steering Committee and a lifelong communicant of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
