Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Mass will be at noon Monday at the church, with internment in Magnolia Cemetery. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Felicie Wurzlow Walker; six children, Jake Walker Jr. and wife, Sarah, Bernadette Walker Day and husband, Winston Day, of Baton Rouge, Thomas Walker and wife, Mimi, Daniel Walker and wife, Georgiana, Mike Walker and wife, Lorelei, and Sally Walker Kerns of Houston; 11 grandchildren, Jay Walker and wife, Amy, Kathy Mella and husband, David, Tom Walker, Alice Walker, Ben Walker and wife, Alexis, Chris Walker and wife, Rebecca, Wendy Walker, Brian Walker, Michael Walker and wife, Beth, Walker Kerns and John Kerns; seven great-grandchildren, Meghan Mella, Ashton Mella, Nicolas Walker, Joseph Walker, Jacob Walker, John Paul Walker and Delaney Walker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Aklen Walker and Claudine Blanchard Walker; and three brothers, Gordon Walker, Ray Walker and Myron Walker, M.D. He was a graduate of Terrebonne High School and attended Louisiana State University. He was the owner of Jake Walker's Conoco Service Station and Jake Walker & Sons, as well as an active businessman in Houma for 55 years. He was a past president of the Terrebonne High School Quarterback Club, a member of the Lions Club and Rotary Club and a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Church. An avid sportsman with a special love of fishing, he was active in the Whisky Pass Association. His family is grateful to Dollie Mae Pierre, Belle Billiot and Lela Patel for their loving care.
