John Valdes Sr.					[Photo]

John F. Valdes Sr., 59, a native of Camequey, Cuba, and resident of Houma, died 
at 2:14 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2005.

Visitation will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Samart Funeral Home in Bayou 
Blue. Services will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Price Valdes; his mother, Rosina Ruiz 
Valdes; one son, John F. Valdes Jr. and wife, Melissa; one brother, Ricky 
Valdes; one sister, Elba V. Matherne; and four grandchildren, Brittney Valdes, 
Ashley Scott, David Valdes and Ryan Scott.

He was preceded in death by his father, Francisco Valdes; and one daughter, 
Marcelite Marie Valdes.

He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family to help with funeral expenses are 
preferred.

Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
