The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= June 05. 2005 1:11AM Joseph Becnel Joseph Eno Becnel, 79, a native of Vacherie and resident of Luling, died at 10:45 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2005. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Luling. Mass will be at 11 a.m. at the church, with burial in St. Charles Cemetery. He is survived by two sons, Lyle and Pierre Becnel; three daughters, Amanda Campbell, Lisa Becnel Edwards and Sarah Thigpen; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Dupont Becnel; his parents, Bernard Becnel Sr. and Aimee Steib Becnel; four brothers, Bernard Jr., Pierre, Albert and Ray Becnel; and two sisters, Marie Antoinette Reulet and Genevieve Labat. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony and a member of the VFW Post 3750 and American Legion of Luling. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations take the form of Masses said for Becnel.
