Lionel Owens Sr.					[Photo]

Lionel James Owens Sr., 73, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died at 1 a.m. 
Saturday, June 25, 2005.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at St. Genevieve Catholic 
Church in Thibodaux. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial 
in Allen Chapel AME Church Cemetery.

He is survived by three sons, Darrel Owens and Troy Jacquot of Thibodaux and 
Lionel J. Owens Jr. of Marrero; three daughters, Ava Washington and Dejaun Nixon 
of Thibodaux and Demetria Hays of San Diego; two brothers, Millage and Henry 
Owens Jr. of Thibodaux; three sisters, Carolyn Owens, Alma Douglas and Vera 
Oliver, all of Thibodaux; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy W. Owens; his parents, Henry Owens 
Sr. and Elvina S. Owens; one son, Don Frye; four brothers, Jimmy, Billy, Steven 
and Morell Owens; and two sisters, Dorothy Mae Owens and Velma Owens.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and a parishioner of St. Genevieve Catholic Church.
