Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Narie Picou Prosperie of Chauvin; two daughters, Melizia Prosperie and Darlene Prosperie Flynn and husband, Dr. Michael Flynn; two grandchildren, Layla Louviere and Joey Louviere; his mother-in-law, Gladys Picou; five nieces; one nephew; and two grand dogs, T.J. and Elle Flynn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyriac Prosperie and Louise Lapeyrouse Prosperie; one sister, Hazel Kiger Bernard; and his father-in-law, Clarence Picou. He was a retired welder with Main Iron Works. His favorite past time was spending time with family and friends and had a deep love for Cajun music and Cajun dancing. He was a loving husband, father and friend who never met a stranger, all were his friends. He was Catholic. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
