Plaisance Sr., 88, a native and resident of Cut Off, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Samart Funeral Home in Cut Off. Masonic service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery. He is survived by three sons, Johnny, Louis Jr. and Dean Plaisance Sr.; five daughters, Joyce Toups, Louverda Kitchens, Lois Duet, Peggy Eymard and Dinah Duet; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; 13 step-grandchildren; 25 step-great-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Esponge Plaisance; his parents, Jules and Celeste Gaudet Plaisance; three infant children; three grandchildren, Jake Duet, Colette Eymard and Norman Guidry Jr.; two brothers, Alphonse and Lucien Plaisance Sr.; and two sisters, Loncia Lefort Thibodaux and Elenora Guidry. He was a retired fisherman, a member of Masonic Lodge No. 427, 32nd degree Mason and Jerusalem Temple Shriner.
