Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Third Zion Baptist Church in Raceland. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in Brooklyn Cemetery. She is survived by one son, Russell L. Smith of Raceland; one adopted son, Russell Mathieu and wife, Cassandra, of Lockport; two stepbrothers, Elton and Oliver Smith of Raceland; three stepsisters, Leomia Shelby, Delores Charles and Betty Smith of Raceland; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Nick Mathieu; her parents, George Smith and Mary Rose Slay; and one stepbrother, Wilbert Smith.
