Arabie, 88, a native and resident of Mathews, died at 10:35 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2005. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Mathews. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in Holy Savior Cemetery. He is survived by one son, Jimmy Arabie; two daughters, Merlin Trosclair and Ariel Mae Champagne; one stepdaughter, Priscilla Hebert; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and three step-great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Sampey Arabie; his second wife, Ethel Hebert Arabie; his parents, Jules and Albertine Gervais Arabie; one granddaughter; three brothers, Harry, Horace and Alton Arabie; and six sisters, Jules Adams, Agnes Allemand, Hallie Breaux, Louise Blanchard, Alida Pol and Henrietta Arabie. He was a parishioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church.
