Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Memorial service will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. She is survived by her husband, Jim Blanchard of Houma; one son, Jay Blanchard of New Braunfels, Texas; one daughter, Vondalyn Bailey and husband, Tom, of Nashville, Tenn.; one sister, Monna Johnson of Houma; and three grandchildren, Trey Bailey of Baton Rouge, Trent Bailey of Nashville and Kaitlyn Blanchard of New Braunfels. She was preceded in death by her parents, Neal Penney and Verna Faye Allen Penney. She was a homemaker. She had a special fondness for arts and crafts, especially crocheting, and her special talents in crocheting were taught to many. She enjoyed reading and was a loving wife of 48 years. She loved being a mother and grandmother and will always be remembered for her sense of humor. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
