Joseph Porche Jr., 73, a native of Bayou Dularge and resident of Houma, died at 8:25 a.m. Sunday, July 24, 2005. Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in St. Eloi Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Beverly "Bev" Brien Porche of Houma; four sons, Terry M. Porche and wife, Julie, Armand "Butch" Porche III and wife, Donna, Dwayne Porche and wife, Joy, and Glenn Porche and wife, Kay, all of Houma; two brothers, Rene Porche and Gerald Porche of Houma; three sisters, Mary Jude Trahan of Mathews, Joan Hebert of Houma and Bobbie Lee Fonseca of Gibson; eight grandchildren, Chris Porche, Chad Becnel, Jaymi Porche, Melani Porche, Derek Porche, Randi Porche, Jason Porche and Jake Porche; and two great- grandchildren, Dawson Becnel and Lauren Ann Porche. He was preceded in death by his parents, Armand Joseph Porche Sr. and Jeanne Aycock Porche; and one sister, Mary Jane Hebert. He was a retired home builder, a member of the United Contractors Association and Terrebonne Sportsmen's League, and a former usher at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. He was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
