Pitre, 80, a native and resident of Cut Off, died at 5:13 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2005. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his second wife, Emily Guidry Pitre; his first wife, Romanda S. Pitre; one son, Terry Pitre and wife, Jackie; two stepsons, Fred Pitre Jr. and Thomas Pitre; four stepdaughters, Katie Verret, Elaine Duet, Louise Pitre and Emily Pitre; three sisters, Verilna Gisclair, Janet Lafont and Mabel Galjour; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; and 17 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Alzina Danos Pitre; two brothers, Hayman Pitre and Harold "T-Brown" Plaisance; and one sister, Clara Vegas. He was a disabled veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW, American Legion and a past member of the Lions Club. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
