Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church. Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in St. Ann Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Valerie Dryden Champagne of Houma; seven sons, Edward Champagne, Jr. and wife, Esmelda of Larado, David Champagne and wife, Stevie of Bourg, Mark Champagne and wife, Elizabeth "Liz" of Chauvin, Chris Champagne and wife, Brenda, Charles Champagne of Bourg, James Champagne and wife, Stephanie of Houma and Thomas Champagne and wife, Allyson of Bourg; four daughters, Mary Hebert and husband, Raymond of Bourg, Carla Wells and husband, Leonard of Barboo, Wis., Jane Dupre and husband, Frank of Chauvin and Victoria Beniot and husband, Andrew of Pineville; one stepson, William Bullock and wife, Analise of Seaside, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Shelley Bullock Bourgeois and husband, Daniel of Bourg; three sisters, Edna Cavalier of Raceland, Linda Leonard of Mathews and Bertha Guillot of Raceland; 36 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tilden and Thelma Harris Champagne; two grandchildren, Jennifer Champagne and Tessa Dupre; one brother, Nathan Champagne; and one sister, Lois Guidry. He was a retired director of radiology and supervisor of loss prevention for 39 years at Terrebonne General Medical Center. He was a member of the Sugarland Country Club in Raceland and a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church.
