Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday at Community Funeral Home and from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at New Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church. Religious services will be at 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Dismissal service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery. She is survived by one son, Lionel Smith of Denver; two daughters, Patricia T. Hartman and husband, Earl, and Jessie "Penny" Nevers, both of Houma; three brothers, Isaac Thomas and wife, Ernestine, the Rev. Saul Thomas and wife, Lillian, and Otis Thomas and wife, Yvonne; two sisters, Eula T. Stoves and husband, Henry, of Denver, and Lizzie T. Guidry and husband, Herbert; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Bubba" Nevers; her parents, the Rev. Matt Thomas and Mary Jasper Thomas; and seven brothers, Wilton, Matt Jr., Herbert, Jeff, George, Jasper and Benjamin Thomas. She was an executive member of Terrebonne Parish Women's Day Association, and a member of Louisiana Southern Baptist Association and 5th District Women's Association.
