The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= July 28. 2005 1:00PM Ernest Broussard [Photo] Ernest Herbert Broussard, 82, a native of Raceland and resident of Thibodaux, died at 4:35 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2005. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Moses Baptist Church in Thibodaux. Religious service will be at 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Dismissal service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Eva Mae Broussard of Thibodaux; six daughters, Barbara Ann Smith Broussard of Atlanta, Clarice Hanzy Broussard of Bakerfield, Calif., Golena T. Ward and Ebony Shelly of Thibodaux, Essence Wallace of New Orleans and Jeffina Thomas of Memphis, Tenn.; two stepsons, Huey and Mark Phillips of Thibodaux; two stepdaughters, Ethel Mae Waller of Charlotte, N.C., and Geneva Nora of Houma; three sisters, Jessie Mae Alexander of Chicago, Gloria C. Jackson and Betty J. Odoms of New Orleans; three brothers, Lawrence Broussard Sr., Harold Broussard and Carl R. Clark, all of New Orleans; 22 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doretha Broussard; his parents, Ernest Clinton and Josephine Broussard; one son, Denward Broussard; one brother, Hubert Arel Clark; and his grandparents, Robert and Priscilla Davis Hammond, Joseph Lamond and Mary Rose Broussard. He was a member of Moses Baptist Church, served on the Deacon Board, Scholarship Board, a member of the male chorus, president of the Deacon Alliances, a member of 5th District Association and Laymen's Association. He was a member of St. Joseph Lodge No. 15 Free and Accepted Masons. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
