The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= July 02. 2005 12:31AM Joseph Kirkland [Photo] Joseph "Joe" Glenn Kirkland, 49, a native of Krotz Spring and a resident of Thibodaux, died at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2005. Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday at First Assembly of God Church in Thibodaux and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Thibodaux. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Genevieve, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Michelle Toups Kirkland; his father, J.B. Kirkland; one son, Alex Kirkland; a special niece, Nicole Guidry; three brothers, James and wife, Linda, Jason and wife, Louva, and Virgil "Bud" Kirkland; two sisters, Frances "Sis" McCullah and Helen "Dee" Youngblood and husband, James; and 19 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Tweedel Kirkland; and his sister, Amelia Kirkland. He was a dedicated son to his 90-year-old father. He was a member of the Krewe of Chronos and Cleophas and was secretary of his bowling league. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, watching NASCAR racing and spending time with family and friends. He was an employee of Williams Fields Services for 23 years and will be sadly missed. Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
