Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Samart Funeral Home in Raceland. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Dempster Bourgeois; two sons, Gary J. Bourgeois and companion, Mary Cheramie, and Wayne J. Bourgois and wife, Pat R. Bourgeois; three daughters, Betty "Jane" B. Dufrene and husband, Calvin, Brenda B. Folse and husband, Reed, and Janice B. Guidry and husband, Jerry; 16 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Beauregard and Alice Babin Bourgeois; four brothers, Ulyess, Malcolm, Nolan and Wilton Bourgeois; and two sisters, Eunice B. Knight and Bernice R. Dufrene. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a parishioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church.
