Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Morning Star Baptist Church on Johnson Ridge. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in Blue Lilly Cemetery. He is survived by one son, Casey Brooks of Thibodaux; four stepsons, Glen Marts Sr., Herman Myles, Bronson Myles and Terrance Brooks, all of Thibodaux; six stepdaughters, Ann Williams, Ladon Marts of Gray, Linda Tillman of Houma, Amanda Brooks, Kirsten Brooks and Cordeal Spotts of Thibodaux; one sister, Annabelle Brooks of Thibodaux; and 18 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcel and Mary C. Brooks; his second wife, Alma Brooks; four brothers, Oscar Hebert, John Brooks, Joe Brooks and James Brooks; two sisters, Rosemary James and Ida Mae Brooks; and his grandparents, Verna and Lou Ida Cooper. He was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church.
