Roland Scott						[Photo]

Roland Joseph Scott, 68, a native and resident of Houma, died at 4 a.m. Friday, 
July 1, 2005.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time today at Samart Funeral Home in 
Raceland. Mass will be at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial in Garden of 
Memories Cemetery.

He is survived by his mother, Oceana Martin Scott; one son, Ronald Joseph Scott; 
two stepsons, Mike Hall and Bob Wynn; three daughters, Wanda Scott Acosta, 
Glenda Scott Babin and Vickie Scott Jones; three brothers, Reynold, Carroll and 
Jack Scott; one sister, Nedra Scott Babin; 12 grandchildren; and four great-
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Scott; his father, Sidney A. Scott 
Jr.; one stepson, Leslie Grant; one daughter-in-law, Martha Pontiff Scott; one 
brother, Ray Scott; and one grandchild.

He was a retired tugboat captain.

He was a Christian.
