Velma Matherne

Velma L. Matherne, 92, a native and resident of Larose, died at 9:05 a.m. 
Monday, July 18, 2005.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Our Lady of the 
Rosary Catholic Church in Larose. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the 
church, with interment in the church mausoleum.

She is survived by her second husband, Herman Matherne; one son, Melvin Gaspard; 
two daughters, Katherine Terrebonne and Bonnie Erickson; one brother, Roy 
LeBlanc; two sisters, Marie Hymel and Elma Kaiser; four grandchildren; five 
great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leo Gaspard; her parents, Abel 
and Valerie Acosta LeBlanc; one daughter, Geraldine Gaspard; two brothers, Abel 
and Alvin LeBlanc; and two sisters, Wilma Guidry and Thelma Arabie.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church.
