The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= Thursday, August 25, 2005 Albert Poindexter Albert Poindexter, 91, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Gibson died at 7:10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Community Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with burial in Beulah Cemetery. He is survived by four sons, Lawerence Poindexter and wife, Gladys, of Clearwater, Fla., Melvin Poindexter and wife, Ruby of Gibson, Larry Poindexter and wife, Doris, of LaPlace and Calvin Poindexter and wife, Patricia Ann, of Orlando, Fla., four daughters, Marguerite Burrell and husband, Lionel. Of Baton Rouge, Ether Maude Sims and husband, Sterling, of Chauvin, Audrey Barrow and husband, William, of Gibson and Aldrenia Wesley and husband, Leonard Sr. of Gray; five sisters Annie P. Rollins, Rosetta P. Maryland of Houma, Naomi P. Mckay, Hazel P. Johnson and Laura P. Royal, all of Gibson; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife Lillian Rollins Poindexter, his parents, Townsend and Casting Matthews Poindexter; two brothers, Willie and Lloyd Poindexter; and one sister, Mildred P. Mallet. He was a retired foreman from McDermott Co. and was a member and one of the founders of New Vision Family Worship Center and served as deacon. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps. Co. No. 4407 Iowa, La., District 6.
