Allen" Faves, 72, a native of Raceland and resident of Houma, died Friday, July 29, 2005. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at Samart Funeral Home in Houma. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Rose Lodrigue Faves; one stepson, Sammy Lodrigue; three daughters, Melanie Stokes, Mary Alice Steven and Jennifer Faves; four stepdaughters, Cheryl Ainsworth, Lisa Ainsworth, Germaine Ainsworth and Brandie L.; one brother, Jimmy Farve; one sister, Helen Farve; 10 grandchildren; and eight step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Alida Part Farve; five brothers, Percy, Willie, Johnny, Randolph and Joseph Farve; four sisters, Marie, Louise, Genieve and Pearl Farve; and one stepsister, Juliette. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a boat captain for more than 50 years. He was Catholic. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samart Funeral Home for funeral expenses.
