Fields, 91, a former resident of Lockport for 31 years and Theriot for five years, died at 9:35 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Falgout Funeral Home in Lockport. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Savior Catholic Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans. She is survived by two sons, William "Bill" J. Fields, Jr. and James "Jim" B. Fields; four daughters, Anita F. Melkild, Sister Therese Fields, Catherine F. Gassen and Rita F. Toups; one sister, Irma Joffrion; 24 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Fields, Sr.; her parents, Henry and Elizabeth D. Zimmerle; two grandchildren, Scott Melkild and Craid S. Toups; two great grandchildren, Jonathan Toups and Jacob Toups; two brothers, George and Henry Zimmerle; and two sisters, Agnes Kornruff and Elizabeth Ulfers. She was a baby sitter in the nursery at First Baptist Church in Lockport for 28 years and was loved by all Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
