Pitre, 88, a native of Cut Off and resident of Bayou Blue and Raceland, died at 10:35 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005. Visitation will be 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial at Westlawn Cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Louis J. Pitre and wife, Marion, and Ludvic P. Pitre and fiancee, Gail; two daughters, Faye Sapia and husband, Jackie, and Mary Ann Waguespack; one daughter-in-law, Janice Pitre; three brothers, Hecton Gisclair and wife, Violine, Adam Gisclair, and Antoine Gisclair and wife, Blanche; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis J. Pitre Sr.; her parents, Ludvic and Amelia Gisclair; one son, Ralph A. Pitre; two brothers, Louis Gisclair and Dewey Vegas; and three sisters, Delphine Bergeron, Mae Cheramie and Clara Danos. She was a parishioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church and retired from the Jefferson Parish School Board. Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
