Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Gregory Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie LeCompte Labit of Houma; three daughters, Bonnie Jones and husband, Gary, Christine Cockerham and husband, Donald, of Houma and Judith Cogswell and husband, James, of Reserve; one sister, Audrey Tindall of Denver; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Labit and Marie Savoie Labit; one brother, Luke Labit; and five sisters, Margaret Savoie, Sarah Naquin, Olympe Cenac, Rose Pontiff and Celina Belanger. He was part owner of Universal Iron Works and was a member of the Houmas Carnival Club and a volunteer fireman. He was a parishioner of St. Gregory Catholic Church.
