The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= August 24. 2005 3:37PM John Arceneaux [Photo] John Paul Arceneaux, 71, a native and resident of Bourg, died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in Rogers Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Doris Blanchard Arceneaux; two sons, James Arceneaux and wife, Monica, and John Arceneaux and wife, Lydia; one daughter, Julie Colvin and husband, David; three brothers, Gerald, James and Kenneth Arceneaux; three sisters, Joyce LeBlanc, Annabelle "Nan" LeBlanc and Ruby Chauvin; nine grandchildren, Jason, James, Rebecca, Troy, Christopher and Sierra Arceneaux, and Meagan, Lindsey and David Colvin; and more than 400 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Davis and Louise Boquet Arceneaux; one grandchild, Kaitlyn Colvin; three brothers, Davis Arceneaux Jr., Raymond Arceneaux and Louis Arceneaux; and one sister, Flossie Bergeron. He was retired and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He enjoyed fishing and playing pedro. He was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Bayou Regional Hospice. Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
